FAQs

FAQs:

• How do I know what length chain / neck cord I want to order?
If you currently own one that you like the length of and feel like you would wear the new pendant in the same placement, you can lay the chain/cord out flat in a straight line, then measure the length end to end, taut against a ruler or sewing tape measure.

If not, use a piece of yarn or string 36 inches long with a paperclip dangling down in the center, then keep shortening one side of the string until the paperclip is where you would like your new pendant to rest. Make note of where stopped on the string and measure snugly, end to end, against a ruler. This will give you a good idea.

What length necklace / cord should I get?

• How do I know what size bracelet I want to order?
Wrap a thin ribbon snugly around your wrist (curling ribbon works too), mark the point it connects to itself, then measure the length taut against a ruler or sewing tape measure. Add a half inch for a snug to standard fit or add an inch for a standard to looser fit. Most bracelets are made approx. 7 inches in length.

• Can I wear my jewelry in the shower, while cleaning, doing dishes, bathing myself or a child, or while swimming? What about perfume?
It is a best care practice to remove your jewelry when you are cleaning, bathing, cooking, exercising or while swimming as this may cause tarnish, or even degrade the integrity of your jewelry. Stones and metals are porous and chemicals, grease, grit, oils, even natural ones may not play nice together.

• Why do I see a blemish in/on my jewelry?
Products are individually handcrafted. What you may think are blemishes are the things that make each item unique and add to their natural beauty. You may find identifying distinctions that make your pieces special and exclusive to you. Love them and enjoy them.

• What is this little black patch with my jewelry?
It’s a gift! an anti-tarnish strip may be included in your order; these are provided to help you store your jewelry in a way best suited to avoid oxidization (or further oxidization if your item was purposely antiqued). Sealing silver or copper jewelry in an airtight bag or container with these strips and wiping your jewelry with a soft jewelry cloth after each wear and before storing will help ensure a long happy life for your treasure.

• I got "gunk" in my ring, now what?
It is natural for everyday build up from lotions, skin oils, food prep, pets, and water residue to form a thin layer of debris. Simply wipe down your pieces with some warm soapy water (a few drops of very mild soap in a bowl of warm water works great), pat dry with a soft, clean cloth, and then gently give a quick polish with a jewelry cleaning cloth. Make sure to take note of any specific care instructions in your items listing. Some stones prefer to avoid getting very wet and don’t like being submerged.
